Historic Home Restoration
Historic home restoration is the most challenging and rewarding phase of construction I am involved in. I enjoy the thought process of figuring out how to restore the old homes to last another 100+ years.

The Renovation Process:
The west/kitchen end of the home prior to being re-built
The house was on a post & pier foundation, It required lifting up the house 48" to accommodate access for installing a new perimeter foundation.
While the home was up on cribs it afforded access to replace the underfloor framing and beam work which was rotted.
Prepared for new roof
The house was ballon framed, new framing needed to be installed throughout the home to bring to current code.
The bump out on the kitchen needed to be re-built due to rot. Here, we started digging for the footings
The homeowner wanted to restore the home to its original character and reestablish the bay of windows.
The kitchen framing was pieced together over the years and was beyond repair
Prepared for the siding. We able to salvage 30% of the siding of the original siding and milled the remainder to match.
